The Employment Selection and Compliance System is a business person's guide to the federal laws and regulations regarding employment. Without a guide such as this, employers can easily and unintentionally make hiring mistakes that could result in fines totaling tens of thousands of dollars, civil damages in the millions, and perhaps criminal penalties as well. This system has been designed to help employers obey the letter of the law and keep themselves in business and out of court. It is written in layman's terms.

Part 1 describes a complete hiring system. It leads employers through the hiring process. It explains what can and can't be said in advertising, applications, and interviews. It explains how employers can protect themselves by following a prescribed sequence of events when hiring, when giving new employees their orientation and initial training, and when terminating employees.

Part 2 describes the government agencies that regulate employment law and explains what happens when employers are charged with violations.

Part 3 explains federal laws regarding employment. Included are many case histories of illegal discrimination, showing how the courts have interpreted the law. From age, sex, and religious discrimination to the specifics of sexual harassment and immigration law, the Employment Selection and Compliance System trains business owners, executives, and others who hire people in avoiding severe penalties that can result from ignorance of the law.
