bullet If hired, successfully complete the initial training before assignment and complete the Certified Protection Officer certification program within the first three months of employment.

These are the entry level requirements to be considered for employment at The Conley Group, Inc.

If an applicant meets the requirements for employment, and is interested in being considered for employment, the following is a general overview of the employment process:

  1. Complete our employment application and information release form
  2. Complete an interview with a supervisor
  3. Complete the pre-employment assessments

  4. Complete a second interview with a supervisor

If an applicant meets the qualifications for employment, we will make a formal job offer to the applicant (if a job opening exists).  Upon the applicant's acceptance of the job offer, the applicant will be considered officially hired.  Once hired, the new officer will start their career by completing our initial training and orientation module.  During this period, we will give the new officer the basic skills training they will need to perform the job of a security officer successfully.  Additionally, the new officer will become well versed on our company rules and regulations, and understand our administrative policies and paperwork requirements.  This process usually takes a minimum of two very full days to complete.

After successfully completing the initial training, orientation and uniforming process, we will assign the new officer to a customer (account).  The new officer will work with an existing officer at that account and will be required to complete a core competency process for that location.  The core competency process ensures that our service level to our customer remains consistent and transparent.  Then, within three months of the initial training and orientation completion date, we require that all new officers complete the Certified Protection Officer (CPO) program and become certified as a CPO.

The CPO program is a correspondence (study on your own) course that contains comprehensive material covering thirty-five functional areas of private security.  The certification examination contains 310 true/false and multiple choice questions and the test taker has four hours to complete the examination.  The examination is proctored by a manager who is also certified as a CPO.  There is no reference material allowed during the testing period.  The CPO certification for security has been compared with what the law enforcement academy certification is for police officers.  The Conley Group, Inc. pays for this certification program and the officer retains the CPO for a two year period before re-certification is necessary, provided it is not revoked by the International Foundation for Protection Officers for cause.

The next step for the officer is to work hard and perform at a competence level that indicates that we can remove the officer from probationary status.  After that, the officer can be promoted to Security Officer I.  This will entail more responsibility and pay.  From there, the officer can compete for supervisory and management openings.

The future is bright for everyone on The Conley Group, Inc. team.  If what you have read here interests you, please contact a management representative or complete the on-line application to get started today with the application process and your career.
